How can we foster meaningful work in individuals. Does meaning come from our work, is it from play, is our rest for the sake of work? The author believes that meaning is comes from contributing towards something that is grander than oneself. He questions whether your work is just a series of endless ends, whether it achieves fulfillment or not. He questions whether your play time, (rest time), is truly for its own or for the sake of work. Meaning certainly can come from our work but it can also come from our play, our leisure, our spirit.
